The new PCBs work great!
Let's start with the best parts! We've assembled a kit from scratch including the new Rev 1 PCBs and everything works great! This Revision is just refinements. The fundamentals of the keyboard are the same but we're continuing to take in all the really great feedback from current users.
Yeah, ok. So when will Black boards be available again? (just a few more days)
So, yeah. There's a reason people make a career out of logistics! We're preparing kits as this is typed. But there's an order of micro switches holding things up. We had a decision to make last month; we could make a moderate order of micro switches again or make an order of micro switches that will last us for as long as we see the Santoku being a product. In the end, we chose the latter. So, this order we're waiting for will last us until the end of days. If we run out of a part in the future, well, it won't be the micro switch. We have the tracking number and are just waiting for arrival.
Sunset Key Swtiches!!! (just a few more days)
Did you notice the product listing for Sunset key switches??? Those are en route too. Umm, I'm just gonna say it; we're excited about this! Choc key switches have always held an interesting place in the market but nobody has really gone that extra step to make a quality Choc. LowproKB did this with the Sunsets and we're going to make them available for the Santoku in about a week! If you've read about the Sunsets in the past, well, just believe the hype. They feel great! With the Sunsets, we can now offer every part needed for a build -- and they're all top-shelf parts.
Updated Build Guide (now online)
We've updated the build guide. A recurring comment was that the video guides were great but sometimes it's just nice to sit down with pics and text. So, check out the extensive slide deck. You can download it as a PDF too.
